Our Mission & Vision

hcc_blue_symbolOur Mission is to change life as we know it through the love, loyalty and friendship of Jesus Christ

Much like the Celtic Christians who were led by St. Patrick in the early 5th century, we are a community of Christ-followers that welcome everyone to belong. Sit at the table, join the conversation, enter into community life, was Patrick’s (who was just imitating Jesus) way. We don’t demand people to believe, but first invite people to belong, knowing and trusting God to work belief in a person’s heart. Belief doesn’t happen instantaneously for everyone. But when someone does believe, it brings the beginnings of metamorphosis, transformation, and growth, shaping us into the likeness of Jesus Christ (yet still keeping our God-created uniqueness). We just don’t gather ancient/new spiritual information for an intellectual high, we actually become Christ-followers.

Belong:

Too many of us journey alone. God has said it isn’t good for mankind to be alone- we agree.

So we offer our HANDS of friendship to hold or to help or to pray.

We offer our HEART of love and kindness and forgiveness to be glad about the truth that can set you free. We will want the best for you and Jesus and will work to that end.

We offer our CROWN of loyalty- our treasures, our time, our talent. We believe they all came from God and belong to Him. We offer to you all that Jesus first offered to us.

Believe:

We can all sit at the table of Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God – the Savior of the world – the Lord of our hearts. He has invited us – our passion is for all to know the love, loyalty, and friendship of Jesus Christ. Jesus offered us his servant hands nailed to the cross, his Fathers heart pieced with love, his Holy head crowned with thorns. There is no greater picture of love.

Become:

This truth of Jesus Christ will set you free -

  • free to love the beautiful and the bound,
  • free to forgive yourself and your enemies,
  • free to laugh with the comic and the child,
  • free to cry as a sinner and a saint,
  • free to live a life unbound, free to become

Our Vision

Reach Up:

for many people to connect with God through Jesus Christ and be transformed by his powerful love and life

Reach In:

for many spiritually homeless people to connect and grow with spiritual family; people grow when they do life together

Reach Out:

for many people who have been transformed by Christ’s love and impacted by spiritual family to ask, “How can I bless (help) those around me in my world (neighborhood, workplace, school).”

Answering the right questions to stay on course

Wrong question: “How do we ‘do church’ better?”
The right question: “How do we deconvert from churchanity to Christianity?”

Wrong question: “How do we develop church members?”
Right question: “How do we help develop Christ-followers?”

Wrong question: “How do we grow our church?”
Right question: “How do we transform our community?”

Wrong question: “How do we turn members into ministers?”
Right question: “How do we turn members into ‘around-the-block missionaries?”
