Jesus narrowed everything down for us in His simple, yet amazingly profound, response to a loaded question from the religious people of His day. When He was asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, and all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself.” What if everything we did flowed out of this statement? What if on your school campus you “loved God and loved others?” What if in your home you “loved God and loved others?” What if around your friends you “loved God and loved others?” What if while you were at work you “loved God and loved others?” What if loving God and loving others was your life’s aim? Very simply, this is what we are called to do. In other words, it’s just being who Jesus wants us to be. May we grow to have a continued love for God as we go and love others.
