Story of God Study Guide

This is the most important story you will ever study.

If it is true, and we believe it is, then this story will set you free. We invite you to read it with eagerness and the anticipation that you will encounter God himself in the midst of this journey. He is not far from each of us, and as you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him.

You may see Him in the wonder and awe-inspiring story of Creation or the tragedy of the Flood. You may see Him in the prison with Joseph or in the wilderness with Moses. You may hear him in the praise of David or in the cries of Hosea. He is there, in all of those moments and He is here, in the midst of your moments as well.

We will take this journey in 16 scenes; 8 for act one and 8 for act two. There is much in between, so if your curiosity gets the better of you then chase it to all the wonder in between the scenes. If it doesn’t, then marinate each week on one scene at a time.

We encourage you to engage in the full experience; viewing the production on Sundays, studying the text at home, and attending a gel group each week to discuss and ask questions. This booklet will serve as your guide for the first 8 weeks.

We hope you fill the pages with discovery, prayers, and revelation. We all give our time and energy to many lesser things, many fictional paths. We appeal to you to take the time to consider the story; the claims, the implications, the villain, and the hero- and to consider your place in His story.
